Dave Plumer is President of Asia Pacific and Japan at APC. In 2007, Schneider Electric acquired APC and formed the Critical Power and Cooling Services (CPCS) Business Unit, which includes the APC and MGE UPS Systems brands. The CPCS Business Unit reported revenue of $3.5 billion in 2007 and employs 12,000 people worldwide. Schneider Electric, with 112,000 employees and operations in 190 countries, had 2007 annual sales of $25 billion (€17.3 billion).

Until February 2007, Dave served as vice president, Asia Pacific at APC. In this role, Dave was responsible for sales, marketing and service delivery of APC solutions across the entire Asia Pacific region including Japan, South Korea, Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan), Australia, New Zealand, India and the ASEAN countries of Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

Dave joined APC in 2005 as country general manager and president of APC Japan Inc., which is the second largest revenue generating country for APC outside of the United States.

Prior to joining APC, Dave served as managing principal for IBM Global Services, a $60 billion division of IBM, where he led engagements for IT optimization and business transformation across a wide range of multinational clients. Dave’s successful 25 year career with IBM included general management positions within IBM Sales and Marketing, IBM Information Systems and Technology Group, IBM Global Services, IBM Asia Pacific Manufacturing and Development and IBM Corporate designated business units. Dave has over 12 years experience living and working throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Dave holds a BA in Economics summa cum laude from Union College, is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and holds an MBA with highest honors in Finance and General Management from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. He is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo, Japan. In September 2006, Dave was appointed chairman of the board of directors for APC Japan, Inc.

Dave and his wife Kris live in Tokyo, Japan and have four children studying and working across the U.S. In his spare time, Dave enjoys music, volunteer activities, traveling vacations and skiing with his family. He believes the keys to being an effective leader are listening, respect and commitment to each individual, building an organizational climate of open communication and trust, establishing cohesive teams with highly challenging goals and decision capability closest to the customer and remembering that success combines hard work and fun along the journey.
